From March 2020 all courses are currently postponed. We have started a waiting list so we can get back on track as soon as govt guidelines say we can. Email us at email@example.com to be added.
Start Point: Parndon Wood Nature Reserve, Parndon Wood Road, Harlow, CM19 4SF.
We have spent many years learning about bushcraft, one day feels like no time at all to show you what we know, so prepare yourself for a jam-packed day of learning. Outdoor living is more than a life's work but we would love to set you on a road of discovery.
The skills that will be taught during this course include:
Making shelters using both man-made and natural materials
Discovering various methods of fire-making
Management of fire
Cooking over a fire
Working with wood and string
Learning about many useful trees and plants around us
An introduction to navigation and tracking
No experience necessary. Beginners welcome.
All bushcraft equipment and instruction. The kettle will be on the go all day, tea and coffee abound. Of course, will cook our lunch on the fire. Food choice will depend on your dietary requirements. Carnivores will be well sated and wait until you see what we can do with leeks on the embers!
What to bring and what to wear
Waterproof clothing for when you are not by the fire. Warm clothing that is suitable to be worn near a fire (no Gortex or plastic finishes unless you are happy for them to become well ventilated)
